Making a Landlord Insurance claim

Getting started

If your policy number begins with CHLL please check your policy documents for how to make a claim.

Before you begin, it’s a good idea to have the following information to hand.

Some basic details:

  • Your policy number
  • Your personal details
  • Where and when the incident took place

Supporting information to help your claim:

  • Details of the items you're claiming for, including their cost. We may also need to inspect damaged items, so don't throw them away
  • Documents/photos to support your claim, including purchase receipts
  • A crime reference number if the police were involved
  • Details of anyone who was hurt and how they were injured
  • If the claim is against you, we'll need to see any correspondence between you and the claimant, including any contracts

You can get started on your claim right away, either online or by giving us a call. It’s better to get the ball rolling as soon as you can because your policy could have a time limit for making a claim.

Making your claim online

Most Landlord insurance claims are for things like contents, accidental damage, or escape of water.

Claims for injuries to one of your tenants or a member of the public are covered under the public liability part of your policy.   

If you need to make more than one claim, covering liability and any optional extras, you must complete both forms in this section.
