What is Treatment Liability Insurance?

You can get Treatment Liability Insurance as an optional extra with  Public Liability Insurance to cover you against injury or damage claims as a result of a professional treatment.

Treatment liability cover includes:

  • Eyebrow and eyelash plucking, shaping, and tinting
  • Applying cosmetics and facial masks including ionisation and steaming treatments
  • Manicure and pedicure (but not chiropody) including applying acrylic coatings
  • Applying proprietary hair removal preparations other than electrolysis

You can extend your insurance to cover:

  • Massage
  • Reflexology
  • Aromatherapy
  • Ear piercing
  • Hopi Candles
  • Reiki
  • Trichology
  • Indian Head Massage

If any of these beauty treatments cause death, bodily injury, or loss, or damage to a third-party property and your business is found liable, you'll be covered for the same limit you selected for your Public Liability Insurance.

Treatments must be carried out by a suitably trained person aged 18 years or over with more than one years' continuous beauty therapy experience.

Makers’ and vendors’ instructions must be followed, and skin tests carried out beforehand where applicable.
